From 2013 to 2015, Hilfswerk International implemented the project CANDY III (“Economic Development in Central Asia by Promotion of Processing Sector BIOs and SMEs”) in cooperation with AFVE, ASTI, NASMB, TES and WIFI. The project was funded by the European Union within the framework of the program “Central Asia Invest III”.
It was the third phase of a project in which Hilfswerk International supported the development of export-oriented food processing enterprises in the region. The aim of the project was to stimulate the private sector focusing on growth and development of export-oriented processing SMEs and to promote the integration of Central Asia into the international market. The project paid particular attention to ensure food safety by promoting internationally recognized quality standards.
